Environmental sustainability
Every day we prepare and deliver more than ten thousand meals throughout Italy and we are well aware that, when dealing with catering, sustainability is a priority.
Since 2005 Global Service s.r.l. runs its organization through the UNI EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Thanks to this voluntarily acquired standard the Company has become more efficient from an environmental point of view and therefore sustainable.
Sustainability has gradually been achieved through:
- choice of suppliers who meet certain ethical and environmental sustainability criteria;
- Eco-sustainable detergents and sanitizers with the Ecolabel mark;
- smart warehouse management (loading and unloading programming to avoid CO2 emissions);
- compliance with CAM 2011-2020;
- short and localized supply chain.
The sustainable turning point:
Year 2019 – Global Service s.r.l. renews the entire company vehicle fleet with Electric Vehicles.
Year 2019 – Installation of micro filtered water dispensers throughout the company department and in most of the managed sites.
Year 2020 – Global Service s.r.l. installs photovoltaic systems and heat pump water heaters in its cooking centres. This combined system allows our cooking centres to be powered by totally renewable electricity and water to be generated from renewable heat sources, reducing costs and energy consumption.
Future goals:
We plan to completely eliminate single-use plastics from our business within the next five years. We started to work on the plastic replacement before pandemic, but the Covid-19 emergency has slowed down the process.
Another goal is to create a network of fully sustainable suppliers that fully meets the requirements of the CAM 2020.
Social sustainability
Thanks to the 2030 Agenda related to sustainability, we have fully embraced and plan to put in place all requirements related to it (environmental, economic and social). Since 2014 we have voluntarily decided to certify company processes according to the international standard SA 8000.
It allows you to:
- improve the conditions of the staff
- promote ethical and fair treatment of staff
- include international human rights conventions
- involve internal or external stakeholders (suppliers, customers, municipalities, entities)
- involve all personnel, even those only subject to site passage
In 2014 we decided to also certify the company with ISO 45001 or Health and Safety Management System, which allowed us to complete the OHSMS and management systems for safety and health in the workplace.
Skills achieved
Thanks to these two standards, the Company has acquired more authority and reliability towards all interested parties:
- customers (public and private)
- control bodies (ASL, NAS, Commissions)
- unions
- workers
- suppliers and business partners
We therefore regulated the company according to an official international recognition.
Legality rating
The legality rating is a synthetic indicator of compliance with high standards of legality by companies that have requested it, on the basis of ethical, legal and turnover principles satisfied by art. 2 of the Implementing Reg. On Legality Rating.
ANAC and the AGCM (Authority for the protection of corruption and the market) have given Global Service s.r.l. the maximum score for the legality rating.
Social sustainability
The Code of Ethics is a document containing a series of social and moral protocols produced independently by the Company within a business management model drawn up in accordance with Legislative Decree 08/06/2001 No. 231.
Social Responsibility - SA 8000
GLOBAL SERVICE SRL takes into high consideration the social aspect of the company and its resulting responsibility. We aim to ensure and pursue the continuous improvement of the quality of the products and services offered to our customers. The management is determined to bring the services provided to continuous growth, optimizing processes in terms of efficiency and effectiveness and ensuring meticulous supervision of all activities, making sure to safeguarding the health and safety of workers and the commitment to social responsibility.
